By appearances the camera looked good, and it was compact and simple to use. The problem came when you actually took a picture. I had read in another review that the 180 made pictures look "oily". I really didn't give this review much thought until looking at the pictures I took. In addition to poor low light (indoor) pictures, many of the pictures did in fact have an "oily" appearance. Faces looked as if individuals had been working up a sweat at the gym. This also occurred in pictures not containing people, for instance, wood also had an oily appearance. I might have tolerated the poor indoor picture quality, but the weird oily pictures were too much. I took the camera back and purcahsed a Canon SD1200 IS, with which I am totally satisfied. It takes 2 to 3 seconds to take a picture. It is unnatural to use. Just like the other Sony and Cannon cameras, you put your finger on the button, and it focuses and is ready to go, right? Wrong. You depress the button further and it takes another 2 seconds to click. I can't get good pictures of my kids since its too slow. I am going to give this one away and buy a better camera. I should have listened to the other raters on Amazon who rated this camera a pass. These reviews are never wrong in aggregate.
